60 sites, Tents RVs limited to 35' length. Elevation 7,500 ft. Open May 15-Sept 15. Stay limit 14 days. Reservations not necessary. Wheelchair accessible campsites.

Flush toilets, tables, fire grills, picnicking, garbage collection, trailhead parking available.

Directions: Follow NM 48, 9 miles north from Ruidoso; turn west (left) and follow NM 37 for 1-1/2 miles, turn southwest (left) on Forest Road 107 (County Road C-009), continue for 5 miles. Pass Bonito Lake, turn left continuing straight for about 1 mile. Nearby trail to White Mountain Wilderness.

17 Sites, Open May 1 - November 1 (depending on road condition and snowfall). Elevation 9,000 ft. Stay limit 14 days.

Vault toilets, picnic tables and grills. No trash collection. Please pack out what you pack in.

Monjeau Lookout Tower is nearby as well as hiking trails, notable the Crest Trail, and panoramic views.

Directions: Follow NM 48 north out of Ruidoso 4 miles and turn west (left) on NM 532 for 1 mile. Turn north (right) onto Forest Road 117 for 4 miles. It is gravel and the last 2 miles can be rough. .



Oak Grove Campgrounds

30 Sites, RVs limited to 18' length. Open May 1 - September 15. Elevation 8,400 ft. Stay limit 14 days. Vault toilets, parking area, fireplaces, tables and trash cans.

Directions: Follow NM 48 north out of Ruidoso for 4 miles, turn west (left) on NM 532 for 5 miles. .



Argentina/Bonito Trialhead

Argentina/Bonito Trailhead (camping permitted)Three corrals surrounded by ample pull-off areas for parking. Vault toilets available. There are meadows and wooded area for camping. Wilderness trails are accessible from this location with good opportunities for loop hiking or horseback riding. No motorized vehicles (bikes) are permitted inside the Wilderness. Stay limit is 15 days.

Directions: Take NM48 north out of Ruidoso to FR 107 and turn left. Drive to the end of the road. FR 107 ends approximately 5 miles past the turn-off to South Fork Campground. .

Fishing Info: Bonito Lake is sixty acre mountain valley lake, located in Southeastern New Mexico just north of the Mescalero Apache Reservation. The lake has a good population of wild brook trout as well as few bass and carp.
